District 5340 Governor Scott Carr, Speaking to Sunrise Rotary members…

Scott talked about the variety of things Rotary Clubs in the District accomplish, regardless of their size, as they serve their communities and the region. He spoke about the diversity of our district and our Clubs, especially women as members and leaders within our District’s Clubs. He encourages women to continue in leadership roles and to service Military Members within our District and their families.

Governor Scott also talked about the importance of our youth programs such as RYLA, LEAD, Interact and Rotaract among other youth-serving efforts of Rotary.

In speaking about the effectiveness of Rotary, Scott focused on change; change within our District and within Rotary International. He commented that change is part of Rotary’s DNA as each year leadership changes at the Club level and those changes migrate up to the International leadership level.

He closed his remarks discussing the concept of “Why” Rotary. Scott encouraged each of us to discover our “Why” for our involvement in Rotary….
