Jack Anderson introduced the program; the Four Way Test Speech Contest. He reminded the club of the Four Way Test of the things we think, say and do…
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build good will and better friendships?
Is it beneficial to all concerned?
Four speakers presented their topics integrating the Four Way Test into their speeches.
All were well-presented, giving the judges a difficult time in reaching their conclusion.
All speakers were from The Classical Academy High School; the winner and second place finisher will speak at sub regional contests in the next few weeks.
The winning presentation was made by Evan Santos, speaking about the bias challenges of statistics; Christian Worthen finished second, speaking about privacy and the government role in spying on residents.
Jack concluded the program by awarding cash prizes to all contestants; he also acknowledged the hard work of the judges; Chris Miller, Jim Ponder, Alan Miller and Bob Burson
