Program

President Richard Agnew led our program presentation, describing his experiences at the virtual Rotary International Convention in Taipei… Richard also set forth goals for this Rotary Year…

One of the Rotary International Goals expressed at the convention is increasing Rotary membership…

District Governor, Dan Gensler of the Coronado Club, will be at Escondido Sunrise during September…

Richard spoke about our meeting room situation, and the likelihood of us moving back to a restaurant setting. Cocina del Charro is not yet offering a breakfast meal, and their technical capabilities won’t allow us to do a hybrid presentation.

The meeting room at “The Grand” has a rental cost of $45 per meeting, Past President Jack Anderson will cover one meeting, and Past President Jim Ponder will cover two meetings in July…

President Richard shared the seven areas of service that were the focus of presentations at the International Conference.

Another aspect of importance is growing our connection with Rotaract, the college level Rotary organizations. With the RI interest and goal in increasing membership, the effort will be to engage the Rotaract members so that they transition to full Rotary membership after college.

Another RI goal is to enhance our efforts as we “Serve to Change Lives” such that we increase diversity, equity and inclusion within our Rotary Club efforts.

Speaking of the RI theme of “Serve to Change Lives”, President Richard enumerated many of our programs that do change lives; including our efforts with scholarships, house-building in Tijuana, support for homeless veterans, support for youth through RYLA, providing “ and our efforts with the Guatemala Literacy project and our support for Multiple Sclerosis…

President Richard outlined goals and plans for the new Rotary Year including:

Meeting in Person

Re-establishing our door prize ticket drawings

Participating in ‘hands-on’ community service projects

Increasing membership

Strengthening our Social Media presence

Enjoying more social events

And conducting the best ‘Grape Day 5K Plus 1” event…

Escondido Sunrise Rotary Leadership for 2021-22

Next Week’s Meeting:

Thanks for Attending Today’s Meeting…

Support for our Escondido Community …

Our great community and the success of its businesses is all of our responsibilities… Support the businesses that are doing all they can to survive during this challenging time… Take out some chow… Be ready to support them when the economy begins working again…

The ‘Giving Arch’ on Grand Avenue and Centre City Parkway reminds us that Escondido is a caring, giving community…

To all; be safe and be well…. God Bless those men and women that carry the load at our medical facilities, and God Bless the first responders… May our governmental leaders be wise, thoughtful and smart as this pandemic is overtaken by our hard work and collective support…

In Person and Online Meetings:

Technical Support for Online Meetings:

Our meetings will begin as a hybrid setting with in-person and on-line opportunities…The meetings will be technically managed by President Richard Agnew… Thanks for that Richard… And, Richard is prepared to support all of our attempts at joining the on-line meetings… Look for his email with details and links to log on to the upcoming Zoom meetings…

Watch for emails defining the next meeting. The system works fine, dependent upon your technical support available through your PC or laptop…

SEE YOU SOON… AT ’ THE GRAND’ IN PERSON… OR ONLINE… Next meeting; Thursday July 8; 7:30 AM… Check President Richard’s email for the Zoom Link…
