As we all try to conduct our professional pursuits in new ways, it’s appropriate to remind ourselves of who we are as a Serving Organization… Our accomplishments, our fellowship and the reminder of our many successes is valuable as we seek new opportunities to serve…
We met again in person at the Chamber of Commerce… Great to enjoy the fellowship again and see all your smiling faces…
As a Club, we honored our nation with a salute to our Flag led by our Escondido City Mayor, Dane White and, an invocation was offered by Past President, Jack Anderson…

Past Presidents Rich Aeling & George Beitner enjoyed watching the Padres baseball practice but alas, no foul balls were caught, maybe next time
The Svetich’s were celebrating in Ireland
Rich Aeling talked about their outing to Orange Glen High School with the evening Rotary club to see the Culinary department. They enjoyed a delicious dinner and toured the print & graphics shop. It was a good time had by all

John Schwab shared that the committee worked hard on choosing the applicants that will receive a Rising Star scholarship

Program:
We welcomed the members of BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) who are working diligently to break the chains of child abuse. The statistics show that 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 6 boys are abused.
The chapter began in 1995 as a 501c3 organization and there are currently 47 states involved as well as internationally. The bikers are all volunteers that just want to show up to support these kids. The bikers get bavck ground checked and also go through a 1 year training seminar to observe other bikers to make sure they interact well with the kids.
They showed us a very informative and intense video that talked about what happens. The process in helping a child is:
Level One:
The child meets the primaries and spend time with them so that they feel protected and covered. They also receive a gift to that helps them as they go through this process. They can reach their primary 24/7 and the stories they told were heartwrenching. They talked about being present in the court rooms so that the child feels confident enough to speak up against their perpetrator.
Referrals are word of mouth, they do not hold fund raisers, we hope to as a club support this amazing cause.
Thank you for coming down this morning and educating us on this very real crisis that is very prevalant in our society and for giving back to those that don’t have a voice when these horrendous things are happening to them.

The consolation prize was $31… Mike Muehl had the lucky ticket and gets to enjoy a lunch on Rotary…
