As we all try to conduct our professional pursuits in new ways, it’s appropriate to remind ourselves of who we are as a Serving Organization… Our accomplishments, our fellowship and the reminder of our many successes is valuable as we seek new opportunities to serve…

 

President Chris opened the meeting in our new hybrid format… Many of us in person, some of us online… 

President Chris thanked Sunrise Rotary members that have stepped up to support the cost of our temporary meeting location… Special thanks to Past President, John Boyce for today’s meeting support…

Past Presidents, Jim Ponder and George Beitner honored our outgoing President Chris with some Mammoth Beer (the good stuff) gathered on their recent, eventful trip to Mammoth…

 

Escondido Sunrise Grape Day 5K Update…

Past President, Jim Ponder provided an update on this year’s return of the Grape Day 5K event… In tune with the Escondido Theme, “Escondido is Open”, Jim has met with Mayor Mac and plans are moving forward to pickup where we left off before the pandemic. Grape Day Park start and finish with a full community event, including “Tots N Trucks”… More to come…

A Reminder: Sunrise Rotary  Meetings Will Continue Each Week in Person…

President Richard will continue with our hybrid format; in person at “The Grand” and Zoom for those that cannot attend in person.

 

Club Service Updates…

Past President, Rich Aeling updated members on a variety of Escondido Sunrise Service efforts…

 

Our Rising Stars Scholarship Program support honored four Classical Academy students… Three received $500 awards each, and one a $1,000 award. Our major honoree is a student with a rare disease that has excelled in 4H activities, and plans to become a veterinarian…

Rich also shared that plans are underway for another Project Mercy house build in Tijuana…

Also, there are plans underway for a combined “Presidential Demotion” event in July, honoring both Past President Brian Murphy and Past President Chris Miller…

 

President Chris Acknowledges Club Member Support…

President Chris offered his heartfelt thanks to all Escondido Sunrise Rotary members that have helped to make this Rotary year a success, in spite of the pandemic restrictions…

The following list highlights many ESR members that went above and beyond all year in support of our community outreach efforts… Chris commented on our efforts both locally and around the world as we made a mark on ‘Service Above Self’ and have remained a shining star in District 5340…

 

President Chris closed out his comments by presenting the President’s Pin to incoming President, Richard Agnew…

 

Club members responded with a standing ovation acknowledging all of Chris’ amazing leadership during a very difficult year…
