Editor’s Note…

As we all try to conduct our professional pursuits in new ways, it’s appropriate to remind ourselves of who we are as a Serving Organization… Our accomplishments, our fellowship and the reminder of our many successes is valuable as we await the time we can gather together again…

 

So, we met via Zoom… On March 4 and 11 …  Sunrise Rotary members talking about service and connecting through fellowship in new ways…

President Chris opened the meeting… Even with a gavel and the familiar chime of a gavel striking a bell…  A number of Sunrise Rotarians joined the Zoom meeting… Nice job all of you for joining us…

Each meeting began with a salute to our Nation’s Flag…

Program:

The Program on March 4; The Escondido Arts Partnership, was Introduced by Past President Brian Murphy… Chrisanne Moats, Executive Director of the Partnership shared information about their programs and their goals of bringing beauty and activity to Grand Avenue…

 

The Arts Partnership celebrates the Escondido community with art as shown on this mural on the Juniper wall of their building…

 

The Arts Partnership features the work of over 500 local artists each year… And over 20,000 patrons visit the gallery and the exhibits each year…

 

 

An important show and exhibit each year is the ‘Wood, a Furniture Show’… Supported by our own Brian Murphy… Some amazing, functional art is always displayed…

 

The Partnership is also very active in helping young artists develop…Their ‘Emerging Artists’ exhibit each year features local student artists…

 

Some of the programs are held outdoors in the ‘Heritage Park’ at Grand and Juniper… A location that has been supported over the years by Sunrise Rotary…

 

And, the Partnership hosts the weekly ‘Escondido Certified Farmers Market’… Every Tuesday afternoon, locally grown produce is available to the community. The market is a part of the Partnerships diverse funding base…

 

And, finally, the Partnership hosts its annual fundraising event, ‘Panache’… Sunrise Rotary has been an active sponsor of the event for years, and is appropriately recognized for our support…

To all; be safe and be well…. God Bless those men and women that carry the load at our medical facilities, and God Bless the first responders… May our governmental leaders be wise, thoughtful and smart as this pandemic is overtaken by our hard work and collective support…
